Announcing Festival 2010

June 12-20, 2010

E.M. Pearson Theatre

Concordia University

312 Hamline Ave. N.

St. Paul, MN

The romance and gaiety of turn-of-the-century Paris fizz throughout this celebrated Viennese operetta, the most popular musical theatre piece of all time. As champagne flows, can-can girls dance and Lehar's incomparable music swirls, hopeful would-be husbands pursue the rich widow Hanna Glawari. "The Merry Widow Waltz," "Vilja" and "Maxim's" are just a few of the score's succession of memorable melodies.

Noël Coward's exquisite tribute to Viennese operetta is an irresistible confection that combines a decades-spanning love story, glorious music and Coward's trademark wit. The opulent score includes such immortal standards as "I'll See You Again" and "If Love Were All." The title eloquently captures the essence of the piece: Bitter Sweet.
