Fall in love this holiday season: The Gift of the Magi opens December 15

Immerse yourself in the poignant story of Della and Jim, a couple whose profound love leads them to make extraordinary sacrifices for each other during the holiday season. David Conte's gorgeous score brings O. Henry's classic story to life, celebrating the enduring power of love and the pricelessness of the gifts that truly matter.

The cast also includes Benjamin Dutcher, Darius Gillard, and Yuran Liu as the Voices of the Magi. The stage director is Karen Weber, with musical direction by Skylark's Artistic Director James Barnett.

Performances are at the Lowry Lab Theater, 350 St. Peter St., St. Paul. Opening night is 12/15 at 7 pm, with additional performances 12/16 at 2 pm and 7 pm and 12/17 at 2 pm and 6 pm. Announcing Skylark's next production: Stephen Sondheim's Marry Me a Little

In June of 2024, Skylark will bring Stephen Sondheim’s Marry Me a Little to the stage. This brilliant musical is a captivating exploration of love, loneliness, and the human connection. The sheer variety of his melodies and his insightful lyrics are a testament to Sondheim’s masterful storytelling. Marry Me a Little will be the “must-see production” of the summer. Three Decembers nominated for “Best Production of an Opera”

Skylark’s production of Three Decembers is one of only four productions nominated as “Best Production of an Opera” for the 2023 Regional Awards by Broadway World. The program honors regional productions and touring shows that had their first performance between October 1, 2022 and September 30, 2023. Audience reactions were glowing: “simply stunning,” “a roller coaster of emotions,” and “everyone should see this production.” The three-person, Minnesota-based cast of Norah Long, Siena Forest and Anthony Potts, accompanied by pianists Carson Rose Schneider and Eric McEnaney, was under the music direction of Carson Rose Schneider and the stage direction of Gary Briggle.
