Keeping Skylark Singing
Your support this year allowed Skylark to present Eugene Onegin to sold-out audiences, entertain over 500 seniors at senior residences throughout the Twin Cities, wow fairgoers at the Minnesota State Fair, and bring the US premiere of Infinity Opera’s BESSE to the Twin Cities.
Skylark will keep singing and reaching out to audiences old and new in 2023, but the costs to bring you high-quality opera and music theater keep going up. That’s why your continued support is so vital. As we approach the end of the year, please consider Skylark in your giving plans. You can support Skylark in many ways:
Attend a performance. Coming up are Jake Heggie’s Three Decembers (May 2023) and Stephen Sondheim’s Marry Me a Little (October 2023).
Share your love of opera and Skylark’s productions with your family and friends--invite them to a performance, too.

Three Decembers opens May 12, 2023
Mother’s Day weekend is the perfect time to present Jake Heggie’s tale of family relationships with a twist. What if the family narrative that shapes us isn’t the whole truth? Three Decembers is the story of a Broadway star and her two adult children struggling to connect and heal old wounds while family secrets are revealed. Written for the great American mezzo-soprano Frederica Von Stade, Three Decembers premiered in 2008 to raves: “…the finest modern opera I have seen. Who says that no one is writing enchantingly wonderful new operas? See Jake Heggie’s marvelous new work, it’ll dazzle you.” (Tom Williams, chicagocritic.com) Watch for notices about ticket sales coming up soon!
